Book of Ruth- May Bible Studies- Week 1- Day 1

Scripture

Ruth 1:1-3New International Version (NIV)

Naomi Loses Her Husband and Sons

In the days when the judges ruled,[a] there was a famine in the land. So a man from Bethlehem in Judah, together with his wife and two sons, went to live for a while in the country of Moab. The man’s name was Elimelek, his wife’s name was Naomi, and the names of his two sons were Mahlon and Kilion. They were Ephrathites from Bethlehem, Judah. And they went to Moab and lived there.
Now Elimelek, Naomi’s husband, died, and she was left with her two sons.

Observation
Nothing lasts forever. There is an expiry date on everything including people.  Only GOD is forever.

Application
GOD takes away things that don't serve us. He removes our reliance on being complacent and makes us concentrate on being the best version of ourselves.
 Change is needed to grow.

Prayer
LORD,
everything you do is for a reason. Let me be accepting of all you have planned for me.
AMEN.

Broken and Redeemed- April Bible Studies- Week 6- Day 5

Scripture

1 Corinthians 15:3-4New International Version (NIV)

For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance[a]: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures


Observation
God only wants to give us the best in LIFE. He puts us as 1st priority

 Application
 God place a lot of importance/ priority on us and we should too on his word.  We too should place our emphasis on him

Prayer
 Dear LORD,
thank you for putting me as a priority. I'm blessed and grateful.
AMEN.

Broken and Redeemed- April Bible Studies- Week 6- Day 4

Scripture

Hebrews 12:3New International Version (NIV)

Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.

Observation
Jesus himself went through many obstacles and endured pain and suffering just like we did. 

 Application
 Take heart that the LORD knows your suffering. He too has gone through what you are currently experiencing and had emerged from it unscathed. 

 Prayer
 My LORD, 
all your suffering was not in vain. Through seeing you lead by example you have given me the strength to sustain myself through the obstacles that I face in life. 
AMEN.

Broken and Redeemed - April Bible Studies- Week 6- Day 3

SCripture

John 19:28-30New International Version (NIV)

The Death of Jesus

28 Later, knowing that everything had now been finished, and so that Scripture would be fulfilled, Jesus said, “I am thirsty.” 29 A jar of wine vinegar was there, so they soaked a sponge in it, put the sponge on a stalk of the hyssop plant, and lifted it to Jesus’ lips. 30 When he had received the drink, Jesus said, “It is finished.” With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.

Observation
 God gave up his life for us and carried out whatever he had set out to do as written in the bible

Application
Stick closely to the bible and GOD's teaching. He wrote it for our benefit.

PRayer
Dear LORd,
thanks for leading by example and showing me that you do carry out whatever you mention
AMen.

Broken and Redeemed - April Bible Studies- Week 6- Day 2


Scripture  Matthew 26:26-27
While they were eating, Jesus took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to his disciples, saying, “Take and eat; this is my body.”
27 Then he took a cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you.

Observation
At the breaking of the bread. Jesus shared his body and blood with us. 

Application

 Jesus sacrificed himself for us so that we will be able to be saved. We are all part of his body. 

Prayer
 Dear GOD, 
thank you for considering me as part of your body and sharing yourself with me so selflessly.
AMEN.

Broken and Redeemed - April Bible Studies- Week 6- Day 1

Scripture

Isaiah 53:4-5New International Version (NIV)

Surely he took up our pain
    and bore our suffering,
yet we considered him punished by God,
    stricken by him, and afflicted.
But he was pierced for our transgressions,
    he was crushed for our iniquities;
the punishment that brought us peace was on him,
    and by his wounds we are healed.

Observation
Jesus suffered for us so that we can be saved.

Application
 Suffering and sacrifice is necessary to get the Peace that we seek. There is a silver lining to overcoming the obstacles we face.

Prayer
 Dear LORD,
thank you for the sacrifices that you made to save us.
AMEN.
